On behalf of our prestigious clients we are looking to recruit Storage and Backup Technical Manager for leading of storage and backup technical experts

Responsibilities:

  • To lead a team of storage and backup systems specialists
  • To take ownership of the consolidated technical response to major incidents where severe impact on the user community is encountered, and direct proceedings to resolve the incident in conjunction with the major incident management function
  • To promote a proactive focus on end-to-end service
  • To provide an understanding of the service and business impact of any major outage and communicate to all parties as appropriate, to enable the fast response decision making process
  • To lead the team to deliver approved changes to the storage and backup estate and OS/ applications interfaces
  • Ensure procedures and working practices conform to ITIL standards
  • Manage the key technical elements of the service to prevent service impacting issues pro-actively
  • Set-up and manage the backup requirements of new and existing customers to the centralized backup infrastructure and Applications in conjunction with systems, Application and Database support and delivery teams
  • Provide the central coordination for Restore requests as directed by the Apps, DB and infrastructure/OS management


Requirements:

  • University or College degree (computer science, engineering)
  • 5+ years working in a large multi-platform organization delivering critical business services
  • Strong Leadership and Staff Management skills
  • Management and ownership of the technical fix capability across company
  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead on complex system issue investigation across organizational boundaries
  • Significant experience of one or more SAN and NAS solutions and one or more backup solutions at an Enterprise level
  • Experience of working with external organizations and customers
  • ITIL Service Management Foundation accreditation
  • Fluency in English
